I can't believe it is already August! Here is what I have been up to in the past few weeks:
* On July 11-14 we went on a 3 day Royal Caribbean cruise with my brother in law and his girlfriend, and our friends Sam & Ron, James, and Silas. We went to Nassau and Coco Cay- their private island. The trip was a nice little getaway. The only bad part was the overcast weather due to Hurricane Bertha. In Nassau we went to a Superclub called Breezes. It was all you could eat and drink. They had several pools, including one with a swim up bar and their own private beach. In Coco Cay we lounged on the beach and on our floats in the ocean. We enjoyed the signature drink, the Coco Loco. They walk around the island saying, "Coco Loco for ya." They even had a guy on a golf cart with palm fronds and a trailer behind it of beer and water. He had a towel on his head wrapped like Princess Leia and he said "Beer, Beer, water, water, cold beer, cold water!" At the end of the day it started pouring. We had to take a small boat back to the ship, so it took a while to get everyone off the island. They don’t have many buildings on the island, so we had to get cover under an overhang. Interesting experience! Of course we ate a lot of food on the boat. Some of the things I ate were: duck, lamb, escargot, shrimp, scallops and soufflé.
* We saw Batman on opening night in IMAX. That was an awesome movie, especially in IMAX. We ate at Maggiano's beforehand- yum! At the theatre there were people who had been waiting for the 12am show since noon! Many people came dressed up as the Joker. I definitely think Heath Ledger should win an Oscar- it was a great performance!
* At the end of July, Bob's aunt had another BBQ- this one had a tropical theme. TJ again loved swimming for hours. I made a pineapple cheese ball, mango bars and a pineapple upside down cake. We had a water balloon fight in the pool; TJ kept taking the balloons ever so gently in his mouth and would just swim around with them.
* Yesterday I had my Physical Therapist Assistant school orientation. I enjoyed meeting my classmates and teachers. The day was very long though and some of it was boring because of all the paperwork. And, they already gave us homework! I start on August 25th.
* I got a Jury Summons in the mail a few weeks ago. I called in today and my number was not called! I am so relieved that I do not have to go in.
* This Friday we leave for my cousin's wedding in Michigan. I am one of the bridesmaids. It should be a fun, but short trip. I am excited because my brother and future sister in law will be there. I will let you know all about it when I get back.
