Bob and I have been married for one year! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. Marriage has been an adjustment, but I think I am getting used to it. Last Saturday we went to celebrate at Dubsdread, the place we got married. We went for dinner and we both ordered pasta dishes. We were excited because our dishes came with salad and rolls. The waiter brought our pasta, so Bob asked him to also bring the rolls. Then, I asked him about the salads and he said ours did not come with salad. He then hovered over our table explaining how the menu had changed. Bob and I both thought it was weird that we both saw it came with a salad, but continued eating. Then, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert and we asked for the menu, since the desserts were on the back of the main menu. He said we actually don't have a dessert menu and listed 3 desserts. Bob asked about a brownie dessert he saw and the waiter said oh yes, we do have that. We decided on chocolate cake since it did not have nuts. Then, I went to the front to finally look at a menu. I saw our dinners did come with salad and there was another dessert the waiter did not even mention. So, I flagged down the manager and told him what happened. He took money off the bill and apologized, but the waiter said nothing. What a memorable dinner!

Then, on our actual anniversary we made dinner from The Columbia- one of our favorite restaurants. Bob made paella and let it simmer in a crock pot. I made their 1905 salad and their sangria. It was yummy! I also put up some decorations from last year's Fiesta Rehearsal Dinner. For dessert, we made Baked Alaska from a cruise cookbook my Dad gave us. It was also excellent! Since our first anniversary gift was paper, I gave Bob a brewing book and he gave me a frame to put a paper collage in. We had many friends and family that remembered our anniversary, so that was fun. I am so glad I married Bob and I wish us many more happy years together. Happy One Year to us!
